FRANCISCO GARCIA Fighting This Saturday at the WCK Muay Thai Show at Hollywood Park Casino.
San Diego has 4 Nak Muays fighting in this event Francisco is fighting on the WCK portion of the show as is Andy Murad and Mike Lemaire will be fighting in the Glory portion of the show as is Afam Egbochuku which is a kickboxing 8-man tournament Afam is an Alternate in the tournament. Andy is making his Muay Thai debut as he makes the transition from mma to Muay Thai also Andy holds a win in mma over Mike Lemaire this would be an interesting match up to make for future events. Francisco took some time from his busy schedule to answer a couple questions for us...
Whats your full name:: Francisco David Garcia Jr.
What gym do you represent:: I represent team Nielsen at American Boxing Muay Thai MMA Academy in Pacific Beach.
How long have you been at this gym for:: I've been training here at American Boxing for a little over 2 years.
What weight do you fight at:: I fight at 168 pounds in the Super Middle Weight division.
What's your typical day of training:: A typical day of training for me is getting up early in the morning going for a run, head to the gym later that evening after work! Train hard and just learn as much as possible so that i can be ready when the time be.
When you fight whats the first thing on your mind when the bell rings:: The first thing that comes to mind when im in the ring and the bell rings is that the person across from me is looking to hurt and do damage on me so i better do it to him first and as soon as the bell rings its war best feeling ever!
Who was your last opponent:: My last opponent was Dave Pacheco out of usko the fight went really well for myself i dominated all four rounds winning by unanimous decision to take his IAMTF Super Middle Weight Title!
Who out there would you like to fight given the opportunity:: I just wanna fight the best out there, to better myself as a up and coming fighter so whoever that may be at the time lets do it!
Any predictions for your next fight:: I gotta predict a W defending and retaining my California title i just wanna make a statement and let everyone know what American Boxing is all about!
Any last words or shout outs you'd like to give:: I just wanna shout out to all my friends and family that come out and support me during my fights it really means alot having all you guys out cheering me on! Shout out to my Beautiful wife Natasha Garcia who supports me while i pursue my goals in life and taking care of my 3 beautiful daughters while i'm off training LOVE YOU babe! Big shout out to my coach Dave Nielsen not only is he a great coach he is my mentor a friend and like family to me!! I'm thankful for all that he's done and taught me up to this point and excited for what 2013 and the future holds for myself and American Boxing.
