As we make our way in, i look for Eddie Loco who is the Gym's owner and Head Muay Thai instructor. I meet with Eddie and he gives me the rundown of how the gym got started. (pictured above) is how the gym looks now i have to say after looking at how the place looked before i'm impressed with how it looks now. As you walk in the gym has a traditional feel Boxing ring, Bags, weights pictures of fighters on the walls and a few weight lifting machines but the gym revolves around the ring.
To the left of the ring is the matted area were the bags are at, good amount of bags, Eddie has been around the sport for some time his focus now as a gym owner is teaching and guiding his fighters and clients. Eddie travels to Thailand often staying up to date with his training and taking his students to compete and learn the culture. Eddie has students that are active in the fight scene so if this is the part of town that you live in and you want to learn or fight Muay Thai this is the place to be.
For the few that are looking to fight and take it to the next level you guys might wanna talk to Eddie, La Jolla is an unlikely place for a Thai Boxe gym but don't be fooled by the surroundings Eddie and the rest of the staff are Legit and if you're not interested in fighting thats fine Muay Thai isn't just about fighting it's about Honor, Respect and Loyalty understanding an ancient art.
